Mamaia

Mamaia is situated by the Black Sea, to the north east of Costanza, it has a coast of about 10 km and an average width of just 300 metres as it extends between Lake Siutghiol and the Black Sea. Its wide beach  is characterized by its clean, fine, soft. sand.

The first bathing establishments were set up in Mamaia back in 1906 and in 1932 when they were reconstructed and integrated into the building of the casino. Since then, every year has seen a growth in tourism and today with hundreds of hotels, this area receives more and more visitors coming from the continent. Many people come to enjoy the sandy beaches, sports activities, restaurants and recreational activities and also to live the night life of Mamaia.

The recently renovated Dolphin Park, is one of the most visited tourist attractions near the city of Costanza and it is the only place in Romania where you can admire dolphins, sea lions and penguins in  unique and marvellous surroundings. The Planetarium is another place where you can spend your weekend, looking at a projection of the entire solar system. In the city of Costanza there are many museums, such as the Phoenician – Greek – Roman museum with its priceless treasures, not to mention  the navy and sculpture museums.
